Learners Education Assistance Program (LEAP)

LEAP is a scholarship program for poor children in southern Philippines. READ Philippines has adopted the LEAP program in collaboration with MinLand Foundation in Kidapawan City, Philippines. Your donation will be used to help students with tuition fees and basic expenses such as uniforms, school suppllies, and allowance for transportation and food. The cost per student (elementary, high school and college) for school year 2011-12 is as follows:

Elementary: $185 per year (PhP7,500) - $16 per month

High School: $195 per year (PhP8,000) - $17 per month

College: $592 per year (PhP24,00) - $50 a month

Full, partial or whatever amount you would like to give to support one or more students is welcome.

READ Philippines, Inc. is recognized by the IRS as a charitable organization under Section 501c3 of the IRS Code. Therefore, donation to READ is tax-deductible. Donors receive reports on the student's progress including a report card and financial accounting of expenses. At the end of the school year, donors will be provided a final report on the student's academic achievement and the impact of the donor's assistance.
